Swabian Food

At Eastersunday Beckie had invited us for a typical American dinner and so it was our turn to do the same for her. So we invited Heidi and Beckie from the International Office of Kettering for a Swabian dinner.

Together with Ulle our apartment cooked handmade ‘Spaetzle’ with ‘Schnitzle’.

World Expo of Beer

In our desire for "good beer" we tried to get one at the "World Expo of Beer". The fair was in Frankenmuth or "German Town". You know how typical German looks like for Americans, Germany = Bavaria.
We tried a lot of different kinds of beer but unfortunately no one taste like a German one. Even the German brands like "Franziskaner Weissbier".

Conclusion = I have to wait till I'm back in Germany :-( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the right way!

Let's go Hockeytown!!!!!

In addiction to see every kind of american sport we want to go to a hockey game. We were lucky cause the Detroit Red Wing (the FC Bayern in the NFL) came into to the Playoffs. We saw the first home game in Detroit.
What I expect was such a bad vibe in the audience like at the basketball games before! We were surprised cause the crowd was amazing and we got all what you can expect from a hockey game! We saw a few fights, some brutal body-checks, goals and a fast gameplay. Could we except more? Make yourself a picture!

Chicago

Last weekend we (our apartment) made our first longer trip. We started at Friday midday to Chicago and stayed in Holiday Inn for two nights. We arrived at Friday evening, so we just went to a club called ‘Soundbar’ after we checked in. It was a cool club. At Saturday we did sight seeing. We went on top of the Sears Tower (currently, the Sears Tower is the tallest skyscraper in the United States) the Buckingham Fountain (you will know this from Al Bundy), the Navy Pier and the Millenium Park.
At Sunday morning we ate a great pizza in Little Italy, before we drove back home.
It was a short but awesome trip.
